Workshop Info

Takedowns and Wrestling with Daggers
Using wrestling to make dagger fighting more fun and more grounded. This session will cover wrestling concepts with and without a dagger. Leading to a finish with a takedown or control position. In other words, weaponised hugging, handshakes and other signs of friendship.

About Gindi:
Gindi teaches fencing full time, with a focus on Northen Italian and Iberian styles. He believes that all fencing is wrestling.

That rapier spin from Thibault
How you can use Thibault’s style to find the perfect time to experience and fit a spinning back thrust in your rapier fencing! Starting with the mechanics of a full spin in tempo, the order of actions to experience such safely and how to recognise and create the situation. By the end of the session, expect to be only a little dizzy and very excited to pull this off in free play.

About Mosh:
Mosh is the head coach and Master of Arms at the Fitzroy College of arms and the Current World Broadsword Champion. Mosh has an intense passion for the magic of fencing and the absolute abuse of geometry of 1600’s rapier fencing.

Trimming the Rose – Longsword
Meyer’s Rose is an expression of deceptive and distracting work that restricts the opponent’s options and stacks your advantages, I will be sharing the tools and timing I have used to develop my interpretation of the action to subtly control a pass.

About David:
David has a black belt in Taekwondo and has been practicing HEMA since 2015, first in Queensland and then Melbourne. David coaches Meyer at FCA.

Will there be swords to borrow?
