Gindi Wauchope – Head Instructor
I have fenced my whole life and have taught fencing professionally since founding the School of Historical Fencing in 2015.
I specialise in Northen Italian and Iberian fencing from the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries and my competitive weapons of choice are: Rapier, Sidesword (& Buckler), & Two Handed Sword. Though, I will happily fence with almost any weapon given the opportunity.
As a teacher, I am known for my attention to detail, systematic technical orientation, and welcoming approach. I work to actively foster an inclusive and diverse teaching environment, and to help everyone grow towards meeting their HEMA goals. When I’m not fencing or teaching fencing, I like to translate 16th century Italian (fencing) texts, read fiction, or spend time with my family.
