The School of Historical Fencing was founded in 2015 to share a vision of HEMA with the people of Melbourne and the world. We started training at a small scout hall in Carlton and then two years later we moved to out current home in our own full time martial arts venue the Melbourne Salle, then we added a second training location in Box Hill.
We are the largest HEMA club in Melbourne and the only one with a professional instructor. We pride ourselves on our welcoming environment and the diverse nature of our students – not just in terms of demographics but also the diversity of student styles and goals we accommodate, from people who just want to connect to history and exercise, to people who want to train seriously and compete in tournaments.
