Two Handed Sword Course

Join us over 8 weeks as we explore the art of the two handed sword, the largest longsword around. Popular throughout 16th century Europe this weapon was most thoroughly documented by Achille Marozzo of the Bolognese school of fencing.

The style emphasizes flowing movement from guard to guard and exciting compound attacks combined with direct and elegant defences and was taught using set sequences to be practiced solo or with a partner.

and here’s the Facebook event.

The course runs for 8 consecutive Wednesday evening classes, starting on the 8th of January 2020 and concluding on the 26th of February. Classes will be held at the Melbourne Salle (12/62-64 Oakover Rd, Preston) and will start at 6:30 pm and finish at 7:30 pm. Wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.

As always, the first class is free. Bookings are required – we need to ensure there’s equipment for everyone. If you’re already a monthly all-classes-included member, this course is included too!

Otherwise it’s $100 for students of the SHF and affiliated schools, or $170 for new students (this covers the cost of the class, as well as school membership and attendance at all SHF classes for the duration of the course).

Payment can be made via cash, bank transfer, paypal or credit card. If you would like to pay via cash or bank transfer please contact us to arrange payment. If you would like to try the free class before you commit to paying – register using the same form and then skip the paypal payment window.
